Performance Features

Performance Capabilities

Pumping out a total of 310 hp, the 3.8-liter Direct Injection Gasoline engine is standard on the 2022 Nissan Frontier SV and PRO-4X. This V-6 powertrain twists out a maximum of 281 lb-ft of torque when rotating at 4,400 RPM. The 24-valve DIG powerplant is synchronized with an automatic transmission system that creates nine total gear combinations. When equipped with a 4×2 drive system and King Cab, the SV has an SAE-estimated towing capacity of 6,670 net pounds. The 4×4 drive reduces the trailer capability by up to 200 lbs. If you select a 4×2 drive and Crew Cab for the SV trim, you can tow up to 6,530 lbs. A 4×4 drive decreases the towing rating by 200 lbs for the Crew Cab. The PRO-4X has a default trailer rating of 6,270 lbs. This robust model can also haul a payload of 1,230 lbs. Capable of hauling 1,610 lbs, the SV with the 4×2 drive and King Cab has the best payload capacity on the entire lineup. Optional on the SV and standard on the PRO-4X, the two-speed transfer case supplements the 4×4 drive. Both Nissan Frontier models also have the default Tow-Haul Mode, which is activated by a switch. However, the PRO-4X is the only trim on the roster with the electronic rear locking differential. Additionally, this tough Nissan pickup truck is equipped with the Bilstein shocks that are fine-tuned for off-road handling.

Engineered to protect the grille, bumper, and other exposed parts, front skid plates are standard on the 2022 Nissan Frontier SV and PRO-4X. Both Nissan pickup trucks have Intelligent Auto Headlights with LED lamps for maximum visibility. The PRO-4X boasts LED fog lamps and LED signature lights for even better peace of mind at night and in inclement weather. This high-level model also includes black overfenders and a body-colored rear bumper for enhanced protection against common impacts on urban streets. Armored with multiple skid plates, the PRO-4X also withstands brutal off-road conditions. Both Frontier editions have plenty of other utilities, like the sliding rear glass and rear privacy glass. Like all other trims, these models include the Dampened Assist Tailgate and overhead cargo lights for the bed. Additionally, a 120-V power outlet is available on the bed for charging tools and portable appliances.
