Nissan adds its signature DIG technology to the V-6 engine block under the hood of the 2023 Pathfinder SL and Platinum models. Consuming unleaded gas, this six-cylinder powertrain boasts a 284-horsepower rating per SAE guidance. A variable induction system begins combustion in this naturally aspirated powerhouse. Similarly, the iridium-tipped spark plugs fire smoothly on every cycle thanks to management from the Nissan Direct Ignition. Controlled by an electronic drive-by-wire mechanism, the throttle system instantly responds to your demands. The V-6 engine also cranks out slightly under 260 pound-feet of torque when revolving at a rate of 4,800 RPM. Both Nissan SUVs can easily tow 6,000 net pounds as stipulated by the most recent SAE J2807 rules. These three-row models run on the proprietary Intelligent 4×4 drive system, which offers a class-leading total of seven modes. You’ll confidently conquer off-road trails with some leverage from the Sand Mode or Mud/Rut Mode. Each driving mode also adjusts the shifting patterns in the nine-speed automatic transmission system. Optional on the SL and standard on the Platinum, an enhanced cooling system extends the life of the gearbox.
